Recovering your COCA wallet using face biometrics provides a secure and convenient way to regain access to your funds.
Challenges occur with on-device biometrics when the original device is inaccessible, such as when it is lost, stolen, or did not originally support biometric features. In such cases, user authentication must be handled on COCA’s servers rather than on the device itself. Therefore, while we employ on-device authentication methods like Apple’s TouchID and FaceID for added security and convenience, these solutions are not practical for account recovery if the original device is no longer available to the user.
To recover your wallet using biometrics backup:
1. Open your COCA wallet.
2. Choose a Biometric backup option.
3. Follow directions to pass the liveness test.
4. Now you should be able to access your wallet.
If you are having trouble with face recognition, please try the workarounds below that will potentially troubleshoot the issue:
- Increase Ambient Light: Try moving to an area with better lighting as this significantly improves Face ID recognition.
- Adjust Positioning: Hold the device at a comfortable distance and angle, ensuring your face is well-illuminated and clearly visible to the camera.
- Remove Obstructions: Check for any obstacles like smudges, dirt, or covers on the camera lens that might affect Face ID recognition. Clearing the lens can enhance its performance.
- Update Software: Ensure both the COCA wallet and your device's operating system are updated to the latest versions, as updates often include improvements to biometric recognition.
- Use an External Light Source: If possible, try using an external light source like a lamp or flashlight to temporarily enhance the lighting around your face during the login process.
